Retired from both work and powerlifting competition.

When did you start weightlifting and what inspired you to start weightlifting?
I started weightlifting at approximately age 15.
When did you get involved with powerlifting and what got you interested in the sport?
Some lifters at my gym at the time got me interested. I started competing in 1977.
What weight class(es) did you compete in?
308+ (SHW) / I weighed around 310 to 320 most of my career.

Held all the Alabama state records at one time.

Who are some of the most memorable lifters/people for you in your career?
Kaz, I was chasing his world record deadlift at the time.
With your name as part of the history of powerlifting in Alabama, what would you like to be most remembered for?
Encouraging beginning lifters. Being one of the first lifters to deadlift 800lbs. in powerlifting.
What words of wisdom would you like to pass down to future powerlifters?
Work hard but, don't push too hard after an injury until you are 100% healed.
What are some of your contributions to sport of powerlifting in Alabama?
State Chair, Meet Director and pertinent meets, Judge & level & Feds, ways you contributed to other meets (announcer, score table, spot/loader, expediter)
Co-meet director of the State meet. I refereed a number of meets.
