What is your Alabama Connection? I've lived here all of my Life

 

Current pursuits in life & powerlifting:

I'm currently semi retired.

 

Lifting History:

When did you start weightlifting and what inspired you to start weightlifting?

In 1973 at Troy State University as a walk on football player.    

When did you get involved with powerlifting and what got you interested in the sport?

I started powerlifting in 1976with some friends of mine. (James Hawkins, Buddy Duke , and Harry Hamlin)

Several Alabama State Records in the USPF and the APF. Many Master records in the older part of my career.

James Hawkins and Buddy Duke

With your name as part of the history of powerlifting in Alabama, what would you like to be most remembered for? 

For being a fair and good lifter.

What words of wisdom would you like to pass down to future powerlifters?

Work hard and workout regularly. 

What are some of your contributions to sport of powerlifting in Alabama? 

State Chair, Meet Director and pertinent meets, Judge & level & Feds, ways you contributed to other meets (announcer, score table, spot/loader, expediter)
